I'm an industrial designer.
The thing I hold onto in this practice is simple: that the things I shape go on to serve people.
Someone moving through an ordinary day a little better than before; someone who looks at it and finds the world a little larger. More often than not, I'm shaping the ground that something more important will stand on. That sense of purpose is what keeps me oriented.
I'm stubborn about three things: the depth of the reasoning behind a product, the depth of meaning it carries, and the depth of craft it's resolved with. Get those right, and the rest tends to follow.
